Ardex Premier is designed specifically for the horse racing, training and breeding industry. In Ardex it is assumed that your clients will be the owners of horses in your care. Therefore rather than a client database, Ardex maintains an owner database.

In Ardex select Main at the bottom left then select “People & Firms”. Choose “View by: Owners sorted by display name” to display a list of horse owners entered to Ardex.

You may now search for a horse owner using the Search box at the top of the screen and you may open any owner record by double clicking it. To enter a new owner to Ardex click the “New” button at the top right of the screen.

You may enter details for an owner into the Ardex owner window, including owner name, ABN, address, phone, fax and e-mail contacts and other information. You will note that in the “Roles” section at the bottom right all owners are set to the “Owner” role by default.

An owner may be a person or a company. You may select a default display name for the owner from the pull-down list, a person’s name will normally be displayed as “Surname, First Name”. The “debtor number” will be generated by Ardex, each owner will be assigned a different number.

If you want to e-mail statements and horse communications to an owner it is important to enter a valid e-mail address and select the “send communications by e-mail” and “statement via e-mail” options. It is a good idea to always indicate at the bottom right if the owner is registered for GST, and enter an ABN if you have one.

When all owner details are complete click the “Add” button at the bottom left to add the owner to Ardex. Any changes you make to owner information in the future will be recorded by clicking the “Update” button.

Now that owner details have been entered to the Main screen, other options become available at the left side of the owner window.
