• If you are thinking about making some changes in Options and Settings, but you are not sure what effect your changes will have, Contact Ardex Support. 
  • The Account Codes tab allows for editing of your chart of accounts. Only make changes here if you understand accounting principles. 
  • The best method of adding new accounts to your accounts list is to select an existing account with similar properties, then single click ‘Copy’ and re-name the new account.
  • The Bank Accounts tab allows you to add additional bank accounts. First create the account in the Account Codes tab, then go to Bank Accounts to enter AC and BSB details.
  • The End of Period tab allows you to change your end of period date. You may need to do this so you can enter transactions to a previous month (closed period).
  • The Horse Categories tab allows for customisation of your Horse Categories list. Some horse categories are pre-set, and generally relate to breeding operations in Ardex.
  • The Licensee tab allows for entry of business details including name, address, phone and email. Details entered here appear on various reports and should be accurate.
  • The Location Status tab is the place to set daily charge rates against horse locations. This affects charging of agistment and training fees in Ardex, so care must be taken.
  • The Paddocks tab allows for creation of a list of paddocks that horses may be assigned to. Creating paddocks is optional, some businesses rely on this information and some don’t.
  • The Procedures tab allows you to edit procedures, and add new procedures. Default charge, invoice message, worksheet message and other properties can be set.
  • Care should be taken when adding to or editing the procedures list. Please read the Recording Procedures Guide before attempting any significant revisions here.
  • The Services tab allows for editing and adding to your services list. You should ensure the list covers all services you intend to provide, and each service needs to be assigned to an appropriate income account, and assigned a GST code.
  • The User Categories tab allows you to create a list of categories which can be assigned to clients (horse owners). Generally these categories are used for marketing activities.
  • The User Info tab at the very bottom is important, please check all details here are correct. Company Name, ABN and Address details should be entered, Email Name and Email Address details checked, Stud Book Login details entered, etc.
